What do I do when a student requests proof of attendance to a tutorial session?

Sometimes students request sessions as part of an assignment in their course, or to get extra credit, etc. In these cases, it's likely that students will ask for help presenting proof that they had a tutorial session with you, but we are limited in our capacity to do so.

You should not sign tutorial attendance proof forms for your students. Instead, there are a few options of what to advise students to do if proof of attendance is requested by an instructor.

To demonstrate proof of attending the session, please advise students of the following options:

  1. Take a screenshot the VLC during the session, or take a screenshot of their Upswing calendar after the session.
  2. Download the whiteboard/chat.
  3. Advise the student to reach out to the Upswing administrator on their campus, who can verify the session occurred and relay this information to the instructor.
