Tutors will provide feedback on assignments submitted for review within the Assignment Review module. Tutors provide their feedback by adding comments to different areas of assignments, and these comments have suggestions on how the assignment can be improved. Because the tutor provides their feedback in the form of comments, the completed review will need to be downloaded and opened in an application that allows for the comments to be viewed -- either Microsoft Word or Google Docs. The steps will be explained below:
- Using Microsoft Word
- Using Google Docs
- Using the Office Editing for Docs, Sheets & Slides Chrome Extension
For detailed instructions on how to access your completed review, please view this article: How do I know when my assignment review has been completed?
Using Microsoft Word
If your computer has Microsoft Word, please download the file provided by your tutor and open the document in Microsoft Word.
Tutors provide feedback on assignments in the form of comments. To be able to view the comments left by your tutor, you'll need to make sure that comments are viewable within Microsoft Word. To do this, click on 'Review' within the Word document, then click 'Show Comments'.
Using Google Docs
If your computer does not have Microsoft Word, in order to be able to view your tutor's feedback, we recommend opening the document within Google Docs.
Please follow the steps below:
1. Download your completed review by clicking on the blue file name. The file should be added to the 'Downloads' folder on your computer.
2. Open Google Drive. If you don't have a Google Account, please create one (it's free).
3. Click the + New button, then select File Upload.
4. Find the file from your tutor and upload the file to your Google Drive.
5. Once the file has uploaded, open the file in Google Docs.
6. To view comments provided by your tutor, click on the speech bubble icon in the top-right corner of the page. This should now show the comments on the right-side of the document.
Using the Office Editing for Docs, Sheets & Slides Chrome Extension
This extension for Google Chrome allows you to easily open and edit documents within your Google Chrome browser, however, the extension does not allow you to be able to view comments added to files. In order to see comments that have been added to documents, you'll need to open the file in Google Docs.
Please follow the steps below:
1. Open the file within Google Chrome using the Office Editing Chrome extension. You won't be able to see any comments added to the document when you open the document using the Chrome extension.
2. In the top-left corner, click on 'File', then click 'Save as Google Docs'.
3. A new tab should open, displaying this document within Google Docs. You should now be able to see the comments added to the document by the tutor! If you're not able to see the comments, please follow the steps in this section: Using Google Docs
If you're still having trouble viewing your tutor's feedback, please feel free to contact our Support Team by filling out the form on this page -- we'd be happy to assist!
