Are Upswing Tutors allowed to review assignments that are labeled as a quiz, test, or exam?

It's very common for essays to be weighted similarly to quizzes, tests, or exams. However, instructor expectations for essays tend to differ from other types of exams, such as timed or multiple choice exams. Typically, instructors expect students to follow essay writing best practices which includes seeking feedback and revising. Often, instructors make their policies about seeking assistance from a tutor or the Writing Center on their campus clear to students within the assignment guidelines. 

If you claim an assignment that is labeled as a test or exam and are uncertain about whether you should review it, please carefully review the assignment guidelines (if attached) or message the student to ask for the assignment guidelines/clarification before beginning your review. 

If the assignment guidelines are unavailable, unclear, or the student doesn't respond within a timely manner (3-5 hours), please contact Tutor Management at [e-mail], or send a message in the #async Slack channel on weekends.
