If you have accidentally cancelled a session with a student on the Upswing platform, there are steps you can take to possibly still meet with the student at the originally scheduled time. Although the platform does not have a direct feature to "undo" a cancellation, this article outlines the steps that you can take to reschedule the accidentally cancelled session.
Unfortunately, because there isn't a way to "undo" or "reverse" an accidental cancellation, the student you were scheduled to meet with will have to submit a new session request. The easiest way to request that the student reschedule the session would be to send the student a message on the Upswing platform, as explained in the instructions below.
Instructions
-
Contact the Student.
If you accidentally cancelled a session, it's best to immediately reach out to the student to let them know using Upswing's Messaging feature. Within the 'Upcoming Sessions' box on your Tutoring page, click on the student's name (hyperlinked) to send them a message. -
Type Your Message to the Student.
After clicking on the student's hyperlinked name, a pop-up window should appear, prompting you to type your message to the student. If you'd like to meet with that student at the original time, ask the student to reschedule the session in your message. -
Send the Message.
Once you're ready to send the message, click the blue 'Send' button! -
Accept the Student's New Session Request.
Once the student has submitted the new session request, all you'll need to do is accept their new request!
To avoid accidental cancellations in the future, take a moment to review the cancellation process and ensure you are familiar with the platform's interface and functionalities.
