In Upswing's platform, while actual tutoring sessions may occasionally extend beyond their scheduled times, administrators have the capability to enforce limits, ensuring tutoring sessions with Upswing tutors adhere to their scheduled durations. This guide outlines the steps for turning on this feature, thereby preventing sessions from lasting longer than initially planned.
How To Limit Sessions to Their Scheduled Duration
-
Access the 'Tutoring' View Within Your Admin Dashboard.
Begin by logging into Upswing and navigating to your Admin Dashboard. Click on 'Tutoring' on the left-side of the screen to access the tutoring settings for your institution.
-
Navigate to 'Tutoring Settings'.
In the drop-down menu towards the top of the screen, select 'Tutoring Settings'.
-
Check the Box Next To 'Limit the sessions to their scheduled duration'.
Below the section titled 'Student Limits with Upswing Tutors', check the last box in the list next to 'Limit the sessions to their scheduled duration'. Checking this box enables the limitation, ensuring that sessions end at their scheduled end time.
-
Save Your Changes.
Once you've checked this box, click on the blue 'Save Changes' button at the bottom of this box.
-
Success!
With this limitation in place, students will now receive two separate warnings during sessions that take place with Upswing tutors:
- Five Minute Warning: A notification will appear five minutes before a session's scheduled conclusion, alerting students to the nearing end.
- Session End Alert: At the scheduled end time, students and tutors will receive a final alert indicating the session has ended and they will be prompted to provide feedback of their session.
