As a campus tutor on Upswing, students have the ability to schedule in-person tutoring sessions with you using the Upswing platform. In the event that a student does not attend the in-person session as scheduled, there are a couple ways tutors can document within their Upswing account that the student did not attend, outlined in this article.
Marking the Session as 'Student No Show' on your 'Tutoring' Page
Within the 'Tutoring' page of your Upswing account, the 'Upcoming Sessions' box will show you all of the upcoming sessions students have scheduled with you. In-person sessions will look slightly different than online sessions in that there will not be a box prompting you to 'Join the room', as shown below. However, you'll also be able to see the location of the in-person tutoring session.
Once the scheduled start time of the session has passed, you'll see two new buttons below this session within the 'Upcoming Sessions' box: the 'Student No-Show' button, and the 'Complete Session' button. If the student fails to attend the session, click on the red 'Student No-Show' button to log this session as a no-show.
Please note: if the scheduled end time of the in-person session has passed, you may not be able to mark the session as a 'Student No-Show' within the 'Upcoming Sessions' box, as shown below.
If you're not longer able to update the session within the 'Upcoming Sessions' box, you'll need to follow the steps below!
Marking the Session As a 'No-Show' Within the Session Feedback Form
You can easily mark a session as a 'No-Show' after the session's scheduled end time by leaving feedback about the session. To do so, scroll down within the 'Tutoring' section to the box titled 'Leave your Feedback'.
The first question on the feedback form asks "Did the student not show up?", as shown below:
Check this box and click the green 'Submit' button to log this session as a no-show!
View your Sessions From the 'Calendar' tab
You can confirm that a session was correctly marked as 'Abandoned by Student' by viewing your session history within the 'Calendar' section! A student no-show session will look like the screenshot below:
