Admin Guide: How to Add and Remove Subjects From a Campus Tutor's Profile

In order for campus tutors to be able to complete tutoring sessions on Upswing, they'll need to have the subjects, also known as 'skills', they're able to assist with listed on their tutor account. Tutors are able to add their subjects / skills themselves by following the steps in this article: Campus Tutors: Setting Up Your Tutor Profile

However, administrators also have the ability to add subjects to a tutor's account within the Admin Dashboard. This article explains how administrators can see the subjects / skills a tutor has listed on their profile, in addition to the steps for administrators to follow to add courses to a campus tutor's account.

How to Add Subjects to a Tutor's Account within the Admin Dashboard

  1. Access the 'User Administration' Tab in the Admin Dashboard.

    After logging into the Admin Dashboard, click on 'User Administration' from the left-hand menu. Once here, make sure you have 'Users' selected in the drop-down menu below 'Select Admin Functions View:'.

  2. Search For the Tutor.

    In the 'User List' table, search for the user to locate their account.

  3. Click On the Pencil Icon.

    Next to the tutor's name, click on the pencil icon to edit the user's information.

  4. Click on 'Subjects'.

    In the left-side menu, select 'Subjects' to view the subjects currently listed by the tutor.

  5. Search For the Subject in the Search Bar.

    If you'd like to add a subject to the tutor's account, you can search for the course by name in the search bar. Click on the search result to add the course.

  6. Use the Categories and Subcategories to Add Multiple Related Subjects.

    If you'd like to add multiple, related subjects to the tutor's account, it may be quicker to find the courses using the categories and subcategories

    Click on the black, down-arrow next to the category the courses would fall under. For example, to see Biology courses, you would select the category of 'Science'.

    You'll now see all of the subcategories that fall under the category you selected. Click on the black down-arrow next to the subcategory the courses you'd like to add would fall under. Keeping with the Biology example, you would select the subcategory of 'Biology' to see the list of biology-related courses available on Upswing.

    You should now see all of the subjects that fall under the subcategory you selected. To add the courses to the tutor's profile, click on the blue plus-sign next to the course name.

    After selecting a course to add, you should see a green check-mark next to the course name.

  7. Success!

    You should now be able to see the courses you added to the tutor's account!

How to Remove Subjects Added to a Tutor's Account

To remove a subject listed on the tutor's account, simply click on the red circle with the minus-sign next to the name of the subject you'd like to remove.
