If you're experiencing issues with screensharing while using the Virtual Learning Center (VLC) on a MacBook, it may be due to disabled screensharing permissions. Follow these steps to ensure that screensharing is enabled on your MacBook:
Step 1: Open System Settings
- Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select System Settings from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Enable Screen Sharing in Your 'General' Settings
- In System Settings, locate and click General.
- From here, select Sharing.
- In the Sharing menu, look for the Screen Sharing option.
- Check the box next to Screen Sharing to enable it. The box should turn blue with a checkmark.
Step 3: Check Your Privacy & Security Settings
- In System Settings, locate and click Privacy & Security. From here, select Screen & System Audio Recording.
- Check the applications listed to see if the internet browser you're using to access Upswing is listed. If the application is listed, confirm the permission is toggled on for that application.
- If the application for the internet browser isn't listed, you'll need to add the application to this list. Start by clicking the plus sign below the list of existing applications.
- In the pop-up window, find the Applications folder. In the list of your applications, find and select the internet browser you're using. Click the Open button to add the application to the list.
Additional Troubleshooting Tips
- Check Network Connection: Ensure you are connected to a stable internet network, as screensharing requires a strong connection.
- Update Your System: If you continue to experience issues, ensure your macOS is updated to the latest version, as updates often resolve connectivity issues.
