Where does the tutoring session take place?

There are two types of modes of sessions you can schedule on Upswing; an online session or an in-person session (depending on what your school offers). 

Online Tutoring Sessions

All online tutoring sessions will occur through Upswing in the virtual learning center (VLC). Please follow these steps to access your online session.

1. Navigate from the Home Page to 'Tutoring'

On your Upswing home page, you can start by either clicking Meet with a tutor on the main window, or clicking on Tutoring in the side navigation bar.

2. Click 'Go to Room'

To enter the session, simply click on the Go to Room button under the Upcoming Sessions box and you will be able to join the Virtual Learning Center (VLC).

Please note: to make sure your session is online, please make sure that the "Online" button is selected when scheduling a new session.

 

In-Person Tutoring Sessions

An in-person tutoring session will occur on campus with a tutor employed by your school at a location specified on the tutor's profile page. Most often, an in-person tutoring session will occur at the campus learning center, but may also take place at the writing center, math lab, or library. 

Be sure to check the tutor's location before scheduling a session. When scheduling a session, you will want to select "in-person" and verify that the location works well for you.
