What happens if I need more time than I scheduled?

If you get to the end of your session but it turns out you need more time with your tutor than you thought you would, the first step is to ask them if you can continue working! From here, two things could happen:

The session can continue for up to 90 minutes

Sessions can stretch up to 90 minutes, if you and your tutor are both available during that time. If you need more than 90 minutes, you’ll need to schedule another session at a different time.

You can make another session for a later time

If you need more time with your tutor, but one or both of you are unavailable after the indicated duration, you can always schedule another session for a different time! However, there are some considerations:

  • Your tutor likely has other appointments or a buffer period in place, so you probably won't be able to schedule back-to-back sessions at the last minute. You may be able to finish up with another tutor though, either through scheduling or finding someone with immediate availability.
  • You might ask the tutor to turn on 'immediate availability' in order to finish up working with you, but they are not guaranteed to do that, so if this is the case, see above.
