Here is an overview of how to use the pages in our VLC whiteboard! These are great for helping to organize ideas during a session with a student, including some customizable controls.

Getting Started

This article has a video below explaining the whole process and features all at once. It's important to remember to enable your camera and microphone at the beginning of a tutorial session. Then, once you've successfully entered the VLC, you can use all the page features included in the whiteboard. Watch below to see the full process, or jump to a specific section to learn more about that feature.

Adding & Deleting Pages

Once you've entered the VLC, by default everyone will load onto page one. If you enabled Page Syncing (see below) and move to a different page when the student joins, then the student will automatically look at the page you're viewing.

At the bottom of the VLC screen, you'll see the page menu.

Adding

Click the + button to add a new page. Any new page is always added to the end of the page list, and you'll be taken to the new page automatically.

Deleting

You can only delete pages one at a time, and you have to be on that page in order to delete it. Click on the number to select the page you want to delete (or navigate using the arrows, see below), and then Click the x button. A pop-up will ask you if you're sure, so then you can click the Delete Page button to confirm you want to get rid of the current page you are looking at.

Moving Between Pages

In order to navigate all the pages or move between them, you have a couple of options:

  1. You can click the page number button at the bottom of the page to navigate directly to that page.

  2. Or click the right and left < arrow > buttons to navigate forward and backward through each page. This can be helpful if you want to get to a specific idea, but you can't recall which page that was on.

Page Syncing

You have the option to enable this feature if you want to make sure the student is always looking at the same page as you. This is helpful to stay organized and be mindful of time during a session, but this isn't automatically enabled in case it's not useful to your work.

Some notes:

  • Everyone in the session will be brought to the page that you are on. If you change pages, all participants will follow.
  • Students will not be able to add or delete a page when this option is enabled.
  • Students will not be able to select or navigate to other pages when this option is enabled.

Here are the steps to enable page syncing:

  1. Click the Gear icon button located in the communication module.
