Tutoring
Upswing Tutoring includes both online and in-person options, accommodating individual and group sessions.
Upswing provides institutions with the ability to manage their on-campus tutors on an easy-to-use platform, while simultaneously supplementing their tutoring services with Upswing's tutors.
The platform facilitates 2-way scheduling, allowing both students and campus tutors to initiate sessions. If a student arrives at the Learning Center for drop-in tutoring, campus tutors can schedule a session with a student right then and there.
All online sessions occur within Upswing's Virtual Learning Center, equipped with interactive tools like whiteboards, chat, and video capabilities, allowing students and tutors to make the most out of their tutoring session from virtually anywhere.
Assignment Review
Students can easily upload assignments and receive feedback from writing and subject-matter tutors — meaningful, actionable feedback that helps students improve their conceptual understanding of how to write.
With the ability to provide students asynchronous feedback, Assignment Review allows for institutions to accommodate the busy schedules of students.
Writing Lab
With helpful guides and videos to assist students throughout the writing process, the Writing Lab can help improve the quality of students’ writing, uncovering subject-specific and foundational elements of the writing process that can be worked on. In addition to conceptual videos, the Writing Lab also provides a tool for students to format their citations.
Advising and Early Alerts
This feature enables easy scheduling and conducting of advising sessions. Early Alerts are customizable and can be set by advisors and administrators to flag both positive and negative student actions, facilitating early interventions. Advisors are also able to conduct academic advising appointments using Upswing's Virtual Learning Center, allowing students increased accessibility.
Check-Ins for In-Person Tracking
Upswing’s Check-Ins feature provides admins a convenient way to track on-campus activities and student engagement, recording check-in and check-out times at various campus locations.
Mental Health Services on Upswing
Upswing's Mental Health Module provides students with access to over 160 different videos from PsychHub. These videos provide students with information on topics such as depression, anxiety, and more. Additionally, Upswing can provide students with one-on-one teletherapy sessions through it's partnership with BetterMynd. Students can access BetterMynd directly through their Upswing account to then schedule a 50-minute session with a state-certified counselor.
Ana, the Virtual Texting Assistant
Ana offers on-demand support to students via text messaging. Ana sends reminders to students throughout the semester about important deadlines, announcements, resources, and surveys to gauge student well-being. Backed by our Ana Support Team, who is constantly monitoring interactions with students and responding accordingly, Ana provides students with someone to turn to when they need a bit of support.
