Upswing uses the time zone that is set on your device to display session times and schedules. If the time in Upswing looks wrong, it means your device’s time or time zone settings are incorrect.

How to View and Update the Time Zone Set on Your Upswing Account

To see what time zone you have set on your account, start by clicking Account in the left-side menu (wrench icon).

Click on Account to view the Account Information page, where you can see the time zone set on your account.

On the Account Information page, you should see a box titled 'Time zone'. In this box, you will see the current time zone set on your Upswing account. If the time zone is incorrect, you can change the time zone set on your account by clicking on the blue pencil in the top-right corner of the box.

View the Time Zone box and click on the blue pencil icon in the top right corner to edit your time zone.

After you click on the blue pencil icon, type your preferred time zone into the textbox, then select the correct time zone from the drop down. After you've selected the correct time zone, click the blue Save button.

Troubleshooting Time Zone Issues

Check the Time Zone Location Set on Your Account

Sometimes, time zone issues happen because the time zone you selected doesn't match how your location observes daylight savings time. For example, Cancun is in the Eastern Time Zone but does not observe daylight savings, while the Eastern United States does.

If you select Eastern Time (Cancun) but live in a state like Florida or North Carolina, your Upswing times may appear an hour off during daylight savings. To avoid this, make sure you've selected a U.S. city in your time zone (like Eastern Time - Detroit) instead of one in a country that doesn't change for daylight savings.

Check Your Device’s Time Zone Settings

Make sure your device is set to an official time zone (ex: Central Time) that is also the time zone that you are located in. If your time zone does not match the time zone you are located in, there may be confusion around the start time of any sessions you schedule on Upswing.

Enable Automatic Time Settings

Most devices have an option to automatically set the date, time, and time zone based on your current location.

Log Out and Log Back Into Upswing After Changing Time

If you've changed the timezone on your device while logged into Upswing, we recommend logging out of Upswing completely. Once you log back in, you should see a pop-up message that indicates you've changed your time zone!
