Tutors: Making Adjustments & Removing Recurring Availability

Managing your availability as a tutor on Upswing is a straightforward process, but there are a few nuances to keep in mind when adjusting or removing recurring availability. This article walks you through the process of making changes, deleting recurring availability, and key considerations to ensure a smooth experience.

 

Key Information to Know About Making Changes to Your Availability

Recurring availability must be deleted day by day.

If you've set recurring availability (example: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday), you'll need to remove each time block individually. Upswing doesn’t currently offer an option to delete all occurrences at once.

Previously scheduled sessions remain active.

Deleting a recurring availability does not automatically cancel any existing sessions within that time block. If your availability has changed but a session has already been scheduled during your previous availability, you'll need to cancel these sessions. Editing a time-block of recurring availability is not supported.

If you need to adjust a recurring time block, you’ll need to delete the existing availability and create a new one with the updated schedule.

 

How to Deleting Recurring Availability

  1. Log Into Upswing and Navigate to the Tutoring Module.

    From the home page, either click on 'View your tutoring sessions', or click on 'Tutoring' in left-side menu.

  2. Edit Your Availability.

    Within the tutoring module, scroll down to find the Availability section. To edit your availability, click on Edit. You should now have the ability to make changes to your availability.

  3. Remove Individual Availability Blocks.

    Next to each availability window, you'll see an X. Click the X to delete that individual block of time.

    In the confirmation pop-up, click Remove to delete the recurring availability.

  4. Repeat for All Days and Time Blocks as Needed.

    Because recurring availability cannot be deleted in bulk, if you have a recurring availability you'd like to delete that occurs on multiple days, you'll need to delete each individual block.

How to Make Adjustments to Your Recurring Availability

Because editing existing time-blocks of recurring availability is a supported functionality, you'll need to delete any recurring availability that overlaps with the new availability you'd like to add.

For example, if your current recurring availability shows you're available for sessions Monday - Friday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, but your new schedule will be Monday - Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Delete the 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Time Blocks for Each Weekday.

  2. With These Deleted, You Can Add Your New Schedule.
