Admin Guide: Logging into Domo

With the roll-out of Domo, our new business intelligence tool, we've created this article to provide administrators with guidance on how to log into Domo for the first time.

Introduction to Domo

Domo is a powerful business intelligence tool designed to allow institutions easy access to their Upswing data. Each of our partners institutions will have a specific website to visit in order to log into Domo to view and manage their Upswing data. 

Each institution will have a designated Admin Lite user. The Admin Lite user will have the ability to invite other staff members at their institution to Domo as External Viewers.

Upswing will complete the initial account setup for the designated Admin Lite user. During this account setup process, Admin Lite users will receive an email invitation to log into Domo. Once an Admin Lite user has logged into Domo, they'll be able to invite the staff members via the User Administration app. For detailed information about managing user access in Domo, please read A Deep Dive Into the User Management App in Domo (Admin Lite Users Only).

Finding Your Institution's Domo URL

When a user is invited to Domo, they will receive an invitation email with the subject line that reads "Congrats, you just got Domo'd!". This email includes a "Get Started" button users can click to complete the account creation process, as shown in the image below.

Toward the bottom of the email, you will find the URL for your institution's specific Domo instance, as well as a brief explanation of Domo. We recommend that you bookmark this URL so you can easily access Domo in the future in case you aren't able to find this email!

Each institution's Domo instance URL follows the same format, so if you aren't able to find this email, you can access your Domo instance by navigating to https://upswing-[your institution].domo.com, where you'll replace [your institution] with the name of your institution as it is used in your Upswing login URL.

Example Domo URL:

Name of Institution: Smarter University

Upswing Login URL: https://smarteruniversity.upswing.io

Domo URL: https://upswing-smarteruniversity.domo.com

Logging Into Domo via the Invitation Email

Clicking the "Get Started" button within the Domo invitation email will take you to your institution's Domo instance where you will be able to complete the account setup process. Depending on when you first received your invitation email, the link to complete the account creation process may have already expired. If the invitation link is still valid, clicking the "Get Started" button will take you to your institution's Domo instance, where you'll be prompted to create your password. Once you provide your password and click the "Create Your Account" button, you will be successfully logged into Domo!

If the link is expired, clicking the 'Get Started' button within this email will still take you to your institution's Domo instance. However, you will need to request a new password reset link in order to create your account. Provide your email address and click the "Request Reset Link" button. You'll receive an email from Domo with a "Reset Your Password" button.

Once you click that button, enter your new password and click "Reset Your Password". After resetting your password, you'll be logged into Domo successfully!

Logging Into Domo by Resetting your Password

If you are unable to find the Domo invitation email, you can log into Domo by resetting your password directly from your institution's Domo URL. To get started, visit your institution's Domo URL. From here, click on the "Forgot Password?" button.

Provide your email address and click "Request Reset Link". You'll receive an email from Domo with a "Reset Your Password" button. Click the "Reset Your Password" button within the email and complete the password reset steps mentioned above to get logged into Domo.
