How To Schedule an Online Tutoring Session

This article provides step-by-step instructions to show students how to schedule an online tutoring session on Upswing. Read the written instructions below, or scroll down to watch a quick video tutorial!

How to Schedule an Online Tutoring Session

Go to the "Tutoring" Page.

On your Upswing home page, you can start by either clicking "Meet with a tutor" on the main window, or clicking on "Tutoring" in the side navigation bar.
Search for Your Course.

In the search bar, search for your class! If you're having trouble searching for your class, please view this article: How To Search For Your Subject to Find a Tutor
Choose a Tutor!

After searching for your course, you'll see all of the tutors available that can assist. If you'd like to only see tutors available for a certain type of session, you can filter the results by following the instructions in this article: Using Filters to Find the Right Tutor for You.

Once you've found a tutor you'd like to schedule with, click on the "Schedule" button below their profile picture, or click on "View Profile" to learn more about this tutor.
Pick a Date and Time to Meet.

On the tutor's profile, you'll be able to see all of the dates and times they're available for online sessions. Find a day that works for you, and click on the blue Select a Time button!
Provide the Session Details.

In the pop-up, select the course you'd like to meet about, the time you'd like to meet, and the duration of the session. You'll also have the option to upload any files you'd like to review with this tutor, but this is not required.
Once you've provided all of this information, click on the blue 'Schedule' button to submit your request.
View Your Session Request.

You'll be able to see your session request from your Tutoring page, in the 'Upcoming Sessions' section. Once your tutor has accepted your request, the session status will show as 'Approved'. You'll be able to join the session 5 minutes before the session is scheduled to begin!
